The alloy can be strengthened by cold working, and can also be connected by resistance welding, solution welding or brazing. It is suitable for making anti-oxidation parts that can withstand low loads below 1100°C. 601 has high creep rupture strength, so Inconel 601 is recommended in areas above 500°C.
