ERNiCrMo-4 Nickel Alloy C276 is used for welding materials of similar chemical composition as well as dissimilar materials of nickel base alloys, steels, and stainless steel. This alloy can also be used for cladding steel with nickel-chrome-molybdenum weld metal. The higher molybdenum content provides great resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion.

C276 has excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and oxidizing atmospheres up to 1900°F.
C276 has excellent corrosion resistance to a variety of chemicals, including the corrosive effects of wet chlorine, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solutions.
Application:
C276 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum filler metal used for MIG and TIG welding of Hastelloy C and Hastelloy C-276 itself, stainless steel or other nickel-based alloys
In the chemical, petrochemical and petroleum industries, this filler metal is often used on the cladding side of welded steel joints.
Other uses include thermally contaminated inorganic acids, solvents, solutions (organic and inorganic) contaminated with chlorine or chlorides, dry chloroacetic or ferric acid, seawater and brine solutions.
