Hastelloy B/B-2
Hastelloy B2 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy with significant resistance to reducing environments such as hydrogen chloride gas, sulfuric acid, acetic acid and phosphoric acid. Hastelloy B2 is resistant to pure sulfuric acid and a wide range of non-oxidizing acids. This alloy should not be used in oxidizing media or where oxidizing contaminants are present in reducing media. If Alloy B2 is used in the presence of iron or copper in systems containing hydrochloric acid, premature failure may occur.
Industrial users like its resistance to a wide range of organic acids and resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking.

Product Description:
Hastelloy B2 prevents the formation of grain boundary carbide deposits in the heat affected zone of welding, making it suitable for most chemical process applications under welding conditions. The heat-affected weld zone reduces the precipitation of carbides and other phases to ensure uniform corrosion resistance.
