Overview
Hastelloy B is a high-temperature corrosion-resistant alloy with good oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength. It is widely used in chemical industry, petroleum, pharmaceutical and other fields. Seamless pipe is an important product form of Hastelloy B. Its production process mainly includes smelting, rolling, perforation, straightening and other links.
Smelting
The smelting of Hastelloy B Hastelloy is the first step in producing seamless pipes. The following points need to be noted during the smelting process. First of all, appropriate raw materials must be selected, including nickel-based alloys, chromium-based alloys, etc., to ensure that the alloy composition meets the requirements. Secondly, the melting temperature must be controlled appropriately, generally around 1200°C, to ensure that the alloy is fully melted without overheating. Third, the smelting time must be long enough to ensure uniform alloy composition while avoiding defects such as bubbles and inclusions. Finally, the temperature and speed must be controlled during the pouring process to avoid defects such as shrinkage cavities and cracks.
Rolling
Rolling is the second step in the production of seamless pipes. Through rolling, the thickness, width and shape of the material can be adjusted to achieve the required product size. For Hastelloy B Hastelloy seamless pipes, hot rolling and cold rolling are generally used. Hot rolling refers to rolling at high temperatures and is suitable for producing thicker pipes; cold rolling refers to rolling at room temperature and is suitable for producing thinner pipes. The following points need to be noted during the rolling process. First of all, the rolling temperature and speed must be controlled to ensure that the material has good plasticity and deformation uniformity. Secondly, appropriate rollers and molds must be selected to ensure the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the pipe. Finally, attention should be paid to preventing defects such as cracks and wrinkles in the pipe during the rolling process.
Perforation
Perforation is the third step in the production of seamless pipes. Through perforation, the tube blank can be pierced into a hollow pipe. For Hastelloy B Hastelloy seamless pipes, cross-rolling and perforation are generally used. There are a few things to note during the piercing process. First of all, appropriate piercing temperature and speed must be selected to ensure that the material has good plasticity and deformation uniformity. Secondly, appropriate plugs and guide plates must be selected to ensure that the inner diameter and wall thickness of the pipe meet the requirements. Finally, attention should be paid to preventing cracks, wrinkles and other defects in the pipe during the perforation process.
Straighten
Straightening is the last step in the production of seamless pipes. Straightening can eliminate bending, twisting and other deformation defects of the pipe and ensure the straightness and accuracy of the pipe. For Hastelloy B Hastelloy seamless pipes, two methods are generally used: tension straightening and bending straightening. The following points need to be noted during the straightening process. First of all, appropriate straightening equipment and tools must be selected to ensure the straightening effect and accuracy of the pipe. Secondly, the straightening temperature and speed must be controlled to ensure that the material has good plasticity and deformation uniformity. Finally, attention should be paid to preventing cracks, wrinkles and other defects in the pipe during the straightening process.
